Counseling & Coaching to Help You Overcome Life’s Challenges

….and reclaim a life that you love

Hi, I’m Rachel Engels.

I’m all about helping people find their way through hard things.

It’s no secret that life often hands us some incredibly difficult chapters.

Maybe it’s a health crisis, a career that is sucking the life out of you, or a marriage that’s struggling to survive.

Maybe it’s the daily toll of raising young kids, or worrying about a family member you feel powerless to help.

Whatever your hard season may be, I want you to know that I’m rooting for you. Genuinely. And I’m here to help you hold onto hope while you’re pressing toward your breakthrough.

So poke around a bit and see what inspires you.

Let’s get you through this season together.

What would help you most right now?

RELIEF is On the horizon

You’ve been holding it together for a long time.

You feel like you’ve been stretched to your breaking point. Maybe it’s been a slow build, or maybe life just smacked you all of a sudden with something you didn’t expect. You’re overwhelmed, worn thin, and not sure how much longer you can handle it. Your usual method of powering through isn’t working anymore. Normally you’re the one getting things done and taking care of other people…but right now you’re exhausted.  And you’re finally hitting your limit.

The stress is taking its toll — on you, your work, and the people you care for.

Your body and your health have been trying to get your attention, but it’s hard to slow down and really take your needs seriously. So you push away the grief, the trauma, and the anxiety, and keep on going. You constantly feel overdue for a good cry, but mostly you’re just numb. It’s taking everything you have just trying to get through school, deal with the drama in your family, navigate a chronic illness (yours or someone else’s), attend to a struggling marriage, be present for your kids, maintain your performance at work, walk through your grief, be a decent friend.

You’re just. so. tired.

It’s time for a change.

I help people who are burdened and burned out - especially perfectionists and people-pleasers - to reclaim the joy, freedom, and connection they were made for.  Together we’ll work to understand your needs, your history, your relationships, and your goals, so we can begin to dismantle the particular obstacles that keep you from flourishing, and get you moving back toward the life you’ve been missing.

I’ll give the space you need to slow down and process your thoughts, help you stop ignoring and downplaying your emotions, prompt you to consider new angles, and teach you new tools to help you find your way forward.  I love a good book and a good laugh, so we’ll probably incorporate both into our work at some point.  And I will welcome ongoing conversation about how to keep making therapy the best experience it can be.

Let’s start reclaiming the life you were made for.

Therapy can bring a new sense of clarity and help you find a way forward into new patterns and habits that support, rather than jeopardize, your wellbeing. My clients often experience relief, hope, and empowerment as a result of our work together. They show profound improvements in their relationships, better coping skills, an improved ability to self-advocate, a healthier and more balanced view of self, greater emotional congruence and maturity, and greater freedom in decision-making. In short, therapy supports your growth into the most vibrant version of yourself, so you can live the life that you were made for, and do it well.

If you are ready to see change, contact me for a FREE 15-minute phone consultation to discover how therapy can help you start reclaiming the life you were made for.
